Clearwater County Opioid Settlement
In 2021, the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office joined a $26 billion multi-state settlement with pharmaceutical distributors McKeson, Cardinal Health, and AmerisourceBergen and opioid manufacturer Johnson & Johnson. The first wave of settlement dollars from the pharmaceutical distributors and Johnson & Johnson will bring $383,746.82 to Clearwater County over the next 18 years. There is a second wave of settlements involving Teva, Allergan, Walgreens, Walmart, and CVS that are still in litigation. This wave is anticipated to bring an estimated $312,351.72 to Clearwater County over 15 years.
